Is there any way to model daylight basements in BEopt? It seems like it's either you simulate a fully below-grade basement or above-grade structure. The finished basement I want to model is 4.5ft underground and 4.5ft above. furthermore, is there any option to create a staircase space? Thanks for the insight.

It's not currently possible. Maybe you can use a workaround of modeling a 4.5 ft high basement and making the above grade story 4.5 taller. If you did this, you might need to calculate a U-factor weighted average of the above-grade basement walls and above-grade story walls.

Thank you for the answer! BEopt doesn't accept 4.5ft high finished basement, it gives an error "Basement height must be between 5 and 12 feet" Next, I wonder if I make the above grade story 4.5ft taller and add the daylight basement's window area to the ground-floor's window area, what to do with the slab between the basement and ground floor? since BEopt provides slabs over each floor the slab for daylight basement floor would be at the height of 4.5ft from basement level.
