Cold climate heat pump models for EnergyPlus

Hi,

I'm doing some residential modeling for cold climates (Chicago) and was wondering if there are examples out there for cold climate heat pumps (mini-split or central) that I can use. I am aware of the NEEP Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump list, but I'm looking for IDF models with the correct curves.

Thanks

Christian

Hi @ChristianKohler did you ever find or develop EnergyPlus residential models with Cold Climate ASHPs? I am looking for an example of a working IDF as well. Thanks in advance if you can share something!

Hi Christian, I'm currently using Trane Trace 3D+ and they offer cold climate heat pumps as part of the VRF air-cooled outdoor unit options. They have 2 cold climate options, heat pump and heat recovery.

You might try contacting them through this link: https://tranecds.custhelp.com/app/hom...

These are based on the Mitsubishi products.image description and image description
