HVAC demand power calculation
I am using the 2ZoneDataCenterHVAC_wEconomizer-baseline.idf for the calculation of the energy demand.
Noticed that the following components are used for HVAC power demand.
For Meter=Electricity:HVAC [J], ResourceType=Electricity, Group=HVAC, contents are:
NORTH ZONE SUPPLY FAN:Fan Electric Energy
SOUTH ZONE SUPPLY FAN:Fan Electric Energy
NORTH DATA CENTER IEC:Evaporative Cooler Electric Energy
SOUTH DATA CENTER IEC:Evaporative Cooler Electric Energy
NORTH DATA CENTER DEC:Evaporative Cooler Electric Energy
SOUTH DATA CENTER DEC:Evaporative Cooler Electric Energy
NORTH DX COOLING COIL:Cooling Coil Electric Energy
SOUTH DX COOLING COIL:Cooling Coil Electric Energy
However when I sum up the energy and multiply the sum by timestep and divide by 3600(hourly), its not giving the exact values of whole facility hvac give n by Energyplus. Could anyone explain me the calculation. Thanks in advance.
For ex:
WEST ZONE SUPPLY FAN:Fan Electric Energy J = 7320688.8
EAST ZONE SUPPLY FAN:Fan Electric Energy J=8180277.685
WEST DATA CENTER IEC:Evaporative Cooler Electric Energy J=0
EAST DATA CENTER IEC:Evaporative Cooler Electric Energy J=0
WEST DATA CENTER DEC: Evaporative Cooler Electric Energy J=108000
EAST DATA CENTER DEC: Evaporative Cooler Electric Energy J=108000
WEST DX COOLING COIL:Cooling Coil Electric Energy J=0
EAST DX COOLING COIL:Cooling Coil Electric Energy J=0
Total = 15716966.49
total*4/3600 = 17463.29609
However the Energy plus value for the
Whole Building Facility Total HVAC Electric Demand Power W = 32846.20527
Am i missing any calculation? Could anyone assist?
Dividing the total consumption by the number of hours doesn't result in the peak demand - unless of course all hours are constant.
Peak Demand is the highest demand in a timestep.
