There's a longer story here, but the short version is:

  • I have clearly defined zone loads using the EnergyPlus Lights & OtherEquipment objects. There is ~ZERO envelope load.
  • When I check the E+ output, the zone load differs by 14% from my input values. That's too much.
  • Here are the details. Can someone give me an idea what would cause this variation?
  • Thanks in advance.

How about a revised question: how can I tell what components contribute to a zone load? In this case, I think I know all of them, but E+ appears to think there are more than I'm aware of (since it's results differ)

Do you have any infiltration? ZoneInfiltration:DesignFlowRate, ZoneInfiltration:EffectiveLeakageArea, and/or ZoneInfiltration:FlowCoefficient?

Good insight! .. but we have no infiltration in the model. We're trying to eliminate influence of the envelope and are also eliminating outdoor air. It's an indoor growing facility and we're focusing on the HVAC exclusively.
