Simulating one floor in a multi-story building with energyplus

when i want to simulate the 4th floor only in a multistory building what should i do when exporting idf file from sketchup and open studio to energyplus? should i only create the 4th floor or exporting the whole building and then choose 4th floor surfaces in idf editor ? thanks in advance

If you only want to simulate one floor in a building, then use create the geometry for that one floor either in the OpenStudio extension for SketchUp or using floorspaceJS within the OpenStudio Application. Once the floor's geometry is defined, set the Outside Boundary Condition of all floor and ceiling surfaces to "Adiabatic" (assuming that the floors above and below have the same floor plan and thermostat settings). If you render the OpenStudio model's geometry by boundary conditions, then you should see blue applied to exterior surfaces and pink applied to adiabatic surfaces, like in this post.
