Hi everyone, I am going to optimize the best type of CHP(exp. GSHP, District heating, and electric heating system) with the lowest price using EnergyPlus and jEPlus+EA.I investigated EnergyPlus examples and noticed that there should be some changes in every HVAC options and variables(if I quite got the point). I was wondering if it would be possible to change the CHP type just by one variable? How could I optimize the CHP?

Hi @kimiya, in my opinion, each CHP system should be optimized separately. There would be no point in optimization if you don't include CHP parameters as decision variables. You can compare optimized solutions and choose the best one.
