Hello,

I am trying to install the OpenStudio plugin on SketchUp 2020. I first downloaded the plugin without having downloaded the OpenStudio program first (dumb move...) so SketchUp told me that OpenStudio is now installed and a window popped up requesting me to "Select Open Studio Root Directory".

I then realized I should install Open Studio, and I did. I copied the root directory and pasted it in the bar, but it gives back an error when I click "OK". It reads "File C:\openstudio-3.1.0\Ruby/openstudio_modeleditor.rb does not exist".

Just to be sure, the root directory is the path of the openstudio.rbz file, right? So in my case, it's "C:\openstudio-3.1.0" since I moved the file there after I downloaded it, right?

What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help me?

You need to install the OpenStudio Application (openstudiocoalition/OpenStudioApplication/ https://openstudiocoalition.org/), not the OpenStudio SDK (NREL/OpenStudio).

See https://github.com/openstudiocoalitio... for more information including compatibility matrix (eg: if you want the Sketchup Plugin v1.1.0, download the OpenStudioApplication v1.1.0)

Thank you very much! That was it. I didn't read carefully the instructions as it turns out... It works perfectly now.

You're welcome. It's a transition period, the OpenStudioApplication and OpenStudio Sketchup Plugins have been separated from the OpenStudio SDK a few months ago. Hopefully this confusion will disappear soon enough.

Julien I am trying to download the openstudio application from https://github.com/openstudiocoalitio... but I cannot find any installation file. I did try to install and run Openstudio 3.1.0 downloading all the installation files from https://www.openstudio.net/downloads but after installing all of them I cannot find the executable file in my computer.

@obuchely, go to the "Release" page. Here's the link to the v1.1.0: https://github.com/openstudiocoalitio.... Scroll to the bottom of the page after the (very long) release notes and you will find the installers (assets).
