I have installed Energy+ 8.2.0 - Update 1.2 in a Virtual Machine of Windows 8.1 on a Mac, along with SketchUp 2015 and Open Studio 1.7 and whenever I try to run a simulation, even with an example idf file, it gives me the crash message. Do you have any idea of what could be going wrong?

Thanks

What crash message are you getting? Also, not sure if a typo or not, but Openstudio 1.7.0 uses EnergyPlus 8.2.0 Update 1 (now bundled in the openstudio installer)

Also helpful to know if it's a crash (problem with software) or an error (problem with model).

You could try the suggestion in the "Experienced Users" section of the crash message and post a screenshot from when the program pauses.

I tried the suggestion for experienced users but it only writes the idf and epw files and then it crashes, before it gets to any routine.

Have you tried installing in the default EnergyPlus location of c:\EnergyPlusV8-2-0?

The problem was at the installation location indeed. Thank you JasonGlazer. When I installed it in the default location it worked! Thanks a lot.
