Hello: I recently was importing an IDF using OpenStudio Version 2.9.1 plugin for Sketchup version 2017. I obtained a message after doing this saying "OpenStudio could not import all EnergyPlus Idf objects into your model, 13 objects could not be translated

To export these objects please use 'Plugins->OpenStudio->Export->Export Untranslated EnergyPlus Idf'

What is this actually telling me, and how would this help solve my problem of the untranslated objects? Thank you for your time.

OpenStudio cannot import all possible EnergyPlus objects from the IDF, so you can export the "untranslated" objects to see what is missing from the OpenStudio model after the IDF import. You can read more in posts here and here. Searching for "openstudio import idf" would also turn up more Unmet Hours posts. Does that answer your question?

The idea of this was a side-car file could be re-combined back to the IDF generated by OpenStudio to re-gain objects that were removed in reverse translation. There is a measure, Import OSM Geometry into External IDF, that automates this more.
