Zone Cooling Design Supply Air Temperature Input Method

asked 2015-04-17 15:11:35 -0500

Hi, all

I would like to size the system design supply airflow rates for my baseline case based on a supply-air-to-room-air difference (ASHRAE90.1 requirement). I think in EnergyPlus, it is realized by choosing "Temperature Difference" in the "Zone Cooling Design Supply Air Temperature Input Method" under "Sizing:Zone" section. Is it corret? If so, is there any similar function in OpenStudio? I didn't find the related function in OpenStudio.

You're correct, the EP object to do this is Sizing:Zone. However, as of OS 1.7.0 the Zone Cooling/Heating Design Supply Air Temperature Input Method field is not available in the App or the SDK and uses the default SupplyAirTemperature choice.

These inputs are available in the OS App via Thermal Zones tab > Cooling Sizing Parameters and Heating Sizing Paramters buttons. I set these values to +/- 20F of the zone setpoint temperature to comply with 90.1 Appendix G.
