Level of Detail Guidelines for BEM?

asked 2019-12-16 08:52:29 -0500

updated 2020-01-03 09:12:49 -0500

I have done a web (and forum) search for some kind of standards or guidance related to level of detail for building energy models at different levels of design. Plenty of information exists related to LOD for BIM, but I couldn't find anything specific to BIM. I'm interested in referencing these for in our proposals / scope of work, and would love to NOT have to develop them myself.

Thanks in advance for any links or documents anyone can share.

Thanks, David. I did think of Standard 209 after submitting this. I have a copy and am familiar -- it is a little too generic, BUT LOD specifications could work very well as an appendix to the Standards and referenced from the modeling cycle sections. The AIA document I hadn't seen before. I just reviewed it, and it doesn't really get into LOD as I am thinking about it. Thanks again for replying.

COMNET has a lot of information on standardizing the building energy modelling process and might be helpful.
