Hi all, i am using adaptive model ASHRAE 55 in EnergyPlus to evaluate thermal comfort in a free-running building. However, with some weather files, the output:variable did not showed adaptive model temperatures of some months, so the thermal comfort status showed the value of -1 which means not applicable. Please see the attached image.

I tried many weather files from EnergyPlus database. Some were ok but some were not, for instance most cases in Southern China where my building locates could not calculate adaptive model temperatures for January and December. Any thought? Thanks.image description

I found the answer in Engineering Reference and ASHRAE 55 standard: If monthly outdoor temperature is less than 10°(C) or greater than 33.5°(C), the model is not applicable (show value -1). It is actually too simple to ask. However, i would like to keep this question here for anyone who meet the same problem and don't know the answer as i used to.
