I am using SketchUp 2019 Pro, and I installed OpenStudio-2.7.0. But now in the SketchUp, I cannot find it. Would you please let me know how I can enable it?

Not sure what you mean, if you download the rbz file from this direct link you should get an rbz file in your downloads folder.

You can't. It's not compatible.

Please refer to the OpenStudio Version Compatibility Matrix that is kept up to date as versions are released.

OpenStudio will automatically install itself to Sketchup 2017/2018 only if you install it AFTER sketchup. See https://nrel.github.io/OpenStudio-use...

@Julien Marrec, Yes, exactly Julien, my mistake was that I installed it BEFORE sketchup. I reinstalled OS and now it is working. Thank you.

I just wanted to update this post with instructions for installing the OpenStudio SketchUp Plugin in SketchUP 2019. SketchUp 2019 uses Ruby 2.5.1 vs. Ruby 2.2.4 in earlier versions of SketchUp. SketchUp 2019 is in line with the version of Ruby used in the beta 3.0 version of OpenStudio and the beta OpenStudio Application (linked below).

Steps

  1. Download and install this custom beta OpenStudio Application Installer for windows or mac

    windows: https://openstudio-app-ci-builds.s3-u...

    mac: https://openstudio-app-ci-builds.s3-u...
  2. Download the custom OpenStudio SketchUp Plugin RBZ from (same installer for windows and mac)

    https://openstudio-app-ci-builds.s3-u...
  3. Launch SketchUp 2019
  4. Go to "Windows" menu and then "Extension Manager" and choose "Instal Extension"
  5. Browse to and choose "openstudio.rbz"
  6. If prompted to enter the path to OpenStudio Application, it should look something like

    this for windows: "C:/openstudioapplication-1.0.0-pre1"

    and this for mac: "/Applications/OpenStudioApplication-1.0.0-pre1"
  7. If the OpenStudio toolbars do not open automatically you should find the toolbars in the "View > Tool Palettes" menu. You should also see "OpenStudio" under the "Extension" menu.

Hey small comment. was trying to do this with the OpenstudioApplication-1.0.0 pre-lease file listed in Github's release notes and it will not work. I had downloaded that file first so I tried installing the plugin file here for it, but they were not compatible. It would not load in SketchUp. The OpenStudio file you provide has to be used. Is this file newer or older than the one on the release notes found here: https://github.com/NREL/OpenStudio/re...

When I try to download the OpenStudio Sketchup Plugin RBZ it downloads as an Acrobat pdf rather than a .rbz file. How can I change that? Please advise asap. Thanks I was able to get it to work for me. Thanks.

OpenStudio 3.0 should be compatible with SketchUp 2019, see this post for more information.

Hi David

SUCCESS! Thanks.

I was slightly puzzled by the naming of the new OpenStudio Beta that you have linked: it seems to be 1.0.0 rather than 3.0.0. I was also a little weirded out that the file size was 220,283 kb in size, when ver 2.9.1 was 355,619kb.

However, installing the rbz file and enabling it has set up OpenStudio to run in SketchUp 2020!

Gr8 work
