Hello

I would like to model an outdoor soccer pitch with floorheating to prevent ground frost. I would like to use Openstudio and E+.

Has anybody done this or something similar? In my opinion the main challanges are the heat flow from ground as well as sky radiation and effects due to soil evaporation.

Thank you, Phil

EnergyPlus is not intended to model outdoor spaces.

To design outdoor ground heating systems, refer to 2015 ASHRAE Handbook - HVAC Applications Chapter 51 Snow Melting and Freeze Protection.

Hello Matthew Thank you for your answer. I will have a look into the ASHRAE Handbook.

I would like to compare different heating sources. Do you have any suggestions for modelling software so I can optimize the system, especially in terms of low supply temperature?
