Heating Electricity (J) output less than the sum of the contributing parts
Hi everyone,
I am trying to figure out what contributes to the Heating:Electricity output. I have looked at .mtd output file and I can see that the following contributes to the Heating:Electricity:
Heating Coil Electric Energy [J] Heating Coil Defrost Electric Energy [J] Heating Coil Crankcase Heater Electric Energy [J] Heating Coil Electric Energy [J] (Supplementary)
However, when I look at the output the addition of all of these, it is much greater than the Heating:Electricity output. Everything is in the same units and timestep. Does anyone know why the heating is less than the sum what contributes to it? What am I doing wrong?
I ran a quick test with one of the heat pump example files and the meter agrees with the components. Please share the idf file either here or e-mail it to energyplus-support@gard.com.
Hi MJWitte,
I have sent the idf file via email.
The model was created by someone else and I am checking that I can use it for my purposes. I am also having an issue where the temperature is flat while the HVAC is on, and I am trying to figure out why that is happening/the calculation behind it while heating energy dwindles away. I have attached a spreadsheet (sent via email) with some graphs.
I would appreciate any insight into this problem.
Thanks in advance, Sandi
