Specifiying cooling coil and baseboard heater capacity

The Coil:Cooling:Water does not seem have a way specify the capacity as Coil:Heating:Water does. For LEED we need to specify the exact capacity as per design how do we do this.

Also for the Baseboard the outputs from do not seem to provide a capacity other than a U Factor times area value. How can we know the actual design capacity of the coils.

You are correct, there is no direct input for capacity when using Coil:Cooling:Water. The results are reported to the eio file for html table.

For the coil, the load used to size the coil is shown as well as the Nominal Total Capacity at the rating point.

Component Sizing Information, Coil:Cooling:Water, MAIN COOLING COIL 1, Design Size Design Coil Load [W], 42031.01138

For the ZoneHVAC:Baseboard:RadiantConvective:Water, you are right again. Even though there is an input for Heating Design Capacity, the result is not reported. This would certainly make it difficult to know what the baseboard capacity is. I think this is a mistake and should be corrected.

  autosize,                !- Heating Design Capacity {W}

So the only way to ensure the cooling coil capacity matches with a predetermined system size is to make sure that the loads on the coil result in the same autosize capacity?

I think that's where you stand at this point while I check into why the Coil:Cooling:Water does not have a Nominal Capacity input and why the baseboard doesn't report autosized heating capacity.

Are there any plans to address this in the near future.

Not that I know of. You can always request changes via the E+ Git issue page. You need to describe the problem, using examples makes it easy to understand, like including the eio results for baseboard sizing results from the eio file or html tables.

was this baseboard sizing ever fixed?
