I am writing out my own custom osms which I will then be running on the OpenStudio server (using the DOE algorithm). Do I need to add these objects to my OSM before I run it on the OpenStudio server? Or will the server add these OS objects automatically based on the epw which is assigned to the runs?
I am using OpenStudio version 2.5.
The server will have access to the weather file to run, but it won't automatically update the design days the climate zones, and water main temperatures. You should add the ChangeBuildingLocation measure to your workflow, and manually copy the .ddy and .stat files into the weather directory next to the .epw. The measure argument for the weather file should just need the file name and not any path.
@David Goldwasser thanks for your answer, does that mean that OS:WeatherFile will be added by the server but the OS:SizingPeriod:DesignDay objects won't and because of the later I need to run the change_building_location measure?
@antonszilasi, that is correct. Note, that whatever epw file is chosen for the analysis will be overwritten by what is used in ChangeBuildingLocation. This measure is the primary way to sweep across locations in an analysis.
If you are not sweeping across climate zones but just want to change the weather file for all datapoints in the analysis, then you could change the epw, and then update the seed model to use proper design days and climate zone selection.
