Hello,

I am encountering a problem in EnergyPlus and I would like to ask for your support! I am using the "Shading:Overhang" command and I would like to ask if there is any way to assign a material to the overhang. I wanted to use this command so I can change the Depth in JEPlus later on. Could you, please, enlighten me?

Thank you!

From the Input/Output Reference documentation for the Shading:Overhang object in EnergyPlus, there are no inputs for material information -- only where this should should be placed above a window or door. Since this is a shading object, and there are no inputs for setting transmittance either, it will likely assume that the shade only blocks direct sunlight and doesn't reflect or transmit direct sunlight.

Depth is an input field for the Shading:Overhang object, so you should be able to set that to your desired values using JEplus.

Hello Aaron!

Thank you very much for explaining this! I will only be changing the depth from jEPlus, which seems to be working!

Thank you!
