What known reasons are there for Pat Crashes?

Greetings Folks, I experience crashes with PAT before it has attempted a single run. It happens so quickly that I believe the first New Measure is not even beginning to run. I can have 7 measures that run just fine under One For Each but crashes PAT under One With All Selected Measures. I've looked under all run information but since the run never really initiates there seems to be no record of why the crash happens. Is there a list of know issues that might allow me to avoid this scenario? Thank you, Matt

In OS 1.6.0, PAT could crash when a stderr file was generated during any measure. This has been fixed, and will be included in the upcoming OS 1.7.0 release. In the meantime, you might try the 1.6.2 developer release.

There is another issue where PAT may crash if you have files open in the run directories when you attempt a run.

Mr. MaCumber, Thank you for the explanations.
I was suspecting "errors" in runs and have made sure that each measure would run as a stand alone. Also, I am looking closely at what the measure does so as to avoid scenarios where modificatios create a situation in which another measure that follows has not lost information. (such as a previously defined variable or entire system. Some of the HVAC measures seem that they could possible do just that.
I am also making sure that no files be used by PAT are open or being run. I am not currently savvy enough to know how to check run directory.

You are right that interactions between measures can introduce new problems that you don't see when running a single measure at a time, the order you run two measures in can be important too. In 1.6.0, the crash on error affected PAT and Apply Measure Now in OS App. It did not affect the main run tab in OS App, so you could test for interactions between measures using that.

Success is beautiful! 14 measures ran through consecutively resulting in 59% reduction in EUI with reductions of 54%-KW, 47%kWh, 72%MMBtu. Next step for me is to figure out how to get utility fuel costs into the model for SIR and LLC calculations. Seems this is done with an E+ measure in PAT and not OS if I understood correctly the reply I received from an earlier post. Can you offer some insights into what advantages (spreadsheets, etc.) that Cloud might offer in generating charts, tables and graphs. Is there additional dexterity or additional reporting tools available in the Cloud? Tx.M
