My question maybe someone before asked about it but I am not sure. I am wondering that in the output variables which one shows the heat transfer through the roof? I tried some of them such as "Surface outside conduction heat transfer rate" but I am not sure about it. When I check the results for the 21 July the heat transfer was negative but for the January was positive. I know the heat gain is positive and heat loss is negative but here is opposite. Please let me know how can follow the heat gain and heat loss through the roof. In my model I am using green roof too.

The sign convention is positive from outside to inside I believe, according to HeatBalanceSurfaceManager.cc#L4094.

I suggest you request all three following variables to make sure (source here)

Surface Average Face Conduction Heat Transfer Rate
Surface Average Face Conduction Heat Gain Rate
Surface Average Face Conduction Heat Loss Rate
