EnergyPlus without any cross-platform tools

Dear Friends,

I used to use SketchUp for make the geometry of the building, but do the rest with EnergyPlus. Is it possible to do the geometry with EnergyPlus as well not needing any cross-platform tools like SketchUp, OpenStudio, etc.?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I guess you could always just input vertices for surfaces by hand, but that seems a bit cumbersome. EnergyPlus doesn't currently have a self-contained geometry development tool. The closest you can get in the Legacy OpenStudio plugin for SketchUp, currently unsupported, but that may (will) soon change ;)

Thanks! That's right, but what do you mean by unsupported? Is it still possible to create the geometry in SketchUp and export as an IDF file to EnergyPlus?

It's only updated to E+ 8.4. I assume it will still work with the current version of SketchUp, but I haven't tried.
