My model runs with HVAC comprised of VAV and reheat. However, if I switch to Ideal Air I get the following error:

Program Version,EnergyPlus-Windows-64 8.1.0.009, YMD=2014.12.30 01:21,IDD_Version 8.1.0.009
   ** Severe ** IP: IDF line~9077 Object=CONTROLLER:MECHANICALVENTILATION, name=CONTROLLER MECHANICAL VENTILATION 1, Required Field=[Zone 1 Name] was blank.
** Warning ** IP: Note -- Some missing fields have been filled with defaults. See the audit output file for details.
** Severe ** IP: Possible incorrect IDD File
   ** ~~~ ** IDD Version:"IDD_Version 8.1.0.009"

How do I check to insure I have the correct IDD file? Thank you, Matt

Hi Hason, I am having trouble with the forum. I am using Ideal Air and get the error. I've assigned thermostats using the Zone tab but do not see any reason to attach or modify equipment elsewhere.

The error message that you show is very rarely an indication that you are not using the correct IDD file, instead it usually indicates that you have a problem with a field in your input file. In this case, a filed that is supposed contain the name of a zone was left blank.

See the answer to this question for causes of the controller:mechanical ventilation error.
