Hello, I am modeling an active slab (in EnergyPlus 8.5) and need to determine the peak sensible cooling load. Currently, I am not including any ventilation, just sensible loads. In the output reports (i.e. Component Sizing Summary or "Peak Design Sensible Load" under Zone Component Load Summary), the reported peak loads match. However, when I look at the variables output for the design day condition (day and time) specified as peak in the output reports, the "Zone Radiant HVAC Cooling Rate" does not match. What is the difference between this value and the one reported in the output reports?

the one that you had seen in the component sizing summary is the maximum capacity of the system and hence when you did the simulation, the peak value should not be more than that and the peak value of simulation matches with the one in design....

Coming to the when I look at the variables output for the design day condition (day and time) specified as peak in the output reports, the "Zone Radiant HVAC Cooling Rate" does not match.

the reason is simulation consider the previous day load profile while design does not do that....it is because of this, the difference exists
