Does OS run with Sketchup 2017?

It seems that the OS Sketchup plugin cannot be loaded in the latest Sketchup version 2017

I've installed Sketchup Make 2017 and then OpenStudio 1.13, the extension does not appear on the SU interface I tried to install it manually using the new extension manager in SU but there aren´t rbz files on any of the OS folders

I did move the folders as indicated in the Troubleshooting Section of OS' help. After that, OS appears in the extensions manager but it doesn't work

I presume the same issue happens with SU Pro 2017.

In addition, SU Make 2016 is not available for download (although SU PRO 2016 is) so this is an issue for new installs

Is there any way to sort it out?

SketchUp 2017 has transitioned to Ruby 2.2, OpenStudio is planning transition to Ruby 2.2 in the near future but for the time being OpenStudio will only be compatible with SketchUp 2016. Traditionally SketchUp has left the past release of SketchUp available for download here. You can download the Pro version and simply not enter a license to use the Pro version under the Make license.

macumber , I tryed to use SketchUp 2017 PRO without license, but it blocked me after some time.

So, I tried too to download the SketchUp 2016 Make in the link that you sended, but it is not more there.

Some another suggestion?

I enjoy to ask if exist some plan to integrate OpenStudio to another GUI, how Autodesk Revit?

That is a bummer, @David Goldwasser was going to reach out to the SketchUp team to check if the Pro version could still work in Make mode after the trial. I am not sure if he heard anything back or not. I expect that we will update our version of Ruby to 2.2 to be compatible with SketchUp 2017 relatively soon but that is not scheduled yet. We are currently working on a free geometry editing tool that will allow editing simple geometry without SketchUp, that should be complete by September 2017.

@SED_Jorge and @Geraldo Pithon, if you email openstudio@nrel.gov I can send you links to SketchUpMake 2016 installers. If anyone else needs a link to the installer, please email as well.

If you are an existing SketchUp 2016 user and install the SketchUp 2017 upgrade, just keep the SketchUp 2016 installation on as well if you plan to use the SkethcUp Plugin. Both versions of SketchUp can live side by side without any issues.

OpenStudio will support SketchUp 2017 beginning in 2.0.1 - note this is a developer release. The first major release to support this version of SketchUp will be 2.1.0. There are no plans to support SketchUp 2017 in the 1.x releases of OpenStudio.

OpenStudio 2.0.1 has been released. This is a developer release so it is not intended for production use but if you want to try it out with SketchUp 2017 we appreciate feedback.
