ASHRAE 1052 analytical tests

Dear users of e+,

I am new to it and to this forum and would like to get some confidence in using e+. One of the steps I contemplate is to use the ASHRAE analytical tests as described in the file energyplus_ashrae_1052rp_envelope.pdf for example.

This requires the ASHRAE 1052-RP Toolkit to be available and I have been unable to find any download links to it.

Also it would be useful to have the e+ files that recreate the standard tests described in this document and I have also been unable to find.

Any help in locating any of these would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for any ideas.

Kind regards, Uli

Hello spwarkansas,

Thank you for your reply. In case anyone later is interested, I have also found the following:

I might approach GARD analytics and try to find the 1052-RP software, but the idf files are a good start by themselves.

Kind regards, Julian

Active ASHRAE members have access to all published research online. There is a link buried in this page: https://www.ashrae.org/standards-rese...

Dear spwarkansas,

thank you for your prompt reply. I have had earlier a search at ASHRAE web site without success to find an option to download the toolbox software even for a fee. The original article by Spitler, J.; Rees, S.; Xiao, D. (2001). is available for download, but not the software nor the test cases files. Any suggestion about this would contribute for a good start of my journey into e+.

Kind regards, Uli

Hmm, sorry I've looked around a bit and can't find any files aside from the report. It has been several years since that RP was completed. I recommend making inquiries with the faculty at Oklahoma State University which were involved in the RP.

Also perhaps ask the folks at GARD Analytics which evaluated 1052-RP content for EnergyPlus. Good luck!
