If floor plan of the building is available in pdf format, is there an easy approach to import that into SketchUp? Pdf can first be converted into image format (high resolution png, jpg etc. using tools such as Imagemagick), and then imported. But when SketchUp model is created this way, it gets blurry with zoom in/out and creating thermal zone is much difficult as compare to when importing *.dwg into SketchUp.

On Mac SketchUp can directly import PDF's as well as raster images, but Windows can't import PDF's.

In the past I've used programs such as Adobe Illustrator to convert PDF'S to DWG or DXF files. Then you can import the DWG into SketchUp.

Thanks David. I eventually ended up using "Snipping Tool" in Windows 7 to create png images from pdf and import that into SketchUp. It has the potential of creating mismatched adjacent surface though. It was a large building with >200 zones and surface matching did cause a good amount of time to be spent fixing errors. Anyway, thanks a lot for the inputs. Appreciate it.
