Hello, I just tried to run my model but it shows this error. I looked through the site and on Google but am unable to find anything helpful. Please help I must run the simulation today and present my results tomorrow.

 Missing Energy+.ini

 EnergyPlus Starting

 EnergyPlus-Windows-64 8.1.0.009, YMD=2014.11.20 20:23

 Processing Data Dictionary

 Processing Input File

**FATAL:IP: Errors occurred on processing IDF file. Preceding condition(s) cause termination.

 EnergyPlus Run Time=00hr 00min 1.15sec

This is what they are showing. If needed I can put in a screenshot if it helps.

@RMAK. I think a better title/keywords for this question is 'EnergyPlus: missing Energy+.ini' and 'energyplus'. That makes the title more descriptive and routes the question appropriately. People subscribe to the 'energyplus' tag but not to 'energy+.ini'.

When you have a specific problem like this, you can also try to submit the file to the EnergyPlus help desk at:

Search through that .err file for any fatal errors - those are the ones that caused your simulation to fail. Without seeing the error messages themselves it's hard to suggest a solution.

The problem is not in the INI file missing. If the INI file is missing, EnergyPlus will automatically create one for you in the directory you are running from.

The errors you are encountering should be listed in the *.err file. That is where you will find a more thorough description of the problem you are encountering.

Hello Neal, Yes I looked through the file but as I am still new to this simulation thing I have no idea what it means. Would it be ok if I uploaded it here ? Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards, RMAK

@RMAK, There will be one or more lines that begins with ** Fatal **. Sometimes the fatal error will refer back to a previous ** Severe ** error. If you are having a hard time understanding what the error means, I would suggest you create a new question much more specifically targeted to the contents of the fatal error.
