I have downloaded OpenStudio 1.10.0. When I clik on the .exe files, i can open PAT and Resultsviewer but not OpenStudio. Trying to load an OS model from Sketchup, I get this error message : Failed to open file at C:/Users/Myname/Desktop/Thefilename.osm. Could someone help me ?

What operating system are you using? Also if in SketchUp you save a new model, and then try to open that, does it also fail to open, or is just a specific file you have that fails.

I'm using Windows 8.1. And every time I try to save or open a file .osm with the openstudio.exe it fails. However, I can open the osm file with a text editor.

This is probably related to these two posts https://unmethours.com/question/13529...https://unmethours.com/question/13399...

@macumber, any specific instructions for extra things about configuration that @Frantz can send us.

We are going to meet with another user having similar problems next week and will update if we find anything. @Frantz do you only experience this issue when trying to open or save files (which invokes the explorer shell for choosing files)?

Even when I try to open Openstudio in the bin directory, nothing happens ; I think there is a problem with the .exe file .

I had the same problem. I solved by creating a new Windows User without punctuation and accentuation..

You are right. I have created a completely new account, without punctuation and accentuation and it finally works. I'm relieved.

Thanks! I had the same problem and it was that the folder where I saved the file had an accentuation.
