How to use Radiance with Open Studios ?

Yes, the Radiance-related tutorial content is a bit lacking, and dated. The Radiance functionality in OpenStudio is also somewhat limited. But in order to use the basic features, the videos here do tell you what you need to do. Basically, for each space you want to analyze with Radiance: 1. Add an illuminance map 2. Add a daylighting control point 3. Link the daylighting control point to the illuminance map 4. Link the illuminance map to the space 5. Select Radiance as the daylight simulation engine on the "Run" tab

When you run the simulation, Radiance will be used to calculate the daylight levels, and the lighting schedules will be adjusted according to the occupancy schedule, the daylight availability, and the illuminance setpoint on the daylighting control point. This new schedule(s) will then automatically be merged into the EnergyPlus simulation.

Support for multiple spaces within a thermal zone, and shading controls is in development.
