SimHVAC and convergence issue

asked 2015-09-22 12:03:59 -0600

I am modeling an office building seved by VAV systems. I am getting a huge amount of SimHVAC convergence issue. After investigating, it looks like these errors might be coming from the fact that I am using a SetpointManager:WarmestTemperatureFlow to control the supply air temperature, as when I switch to a Scheduled or OutdoorAirReset setpoint manager I don't have these issues. Also, it looks like my model fit case 3 from this article.

Is it possible to avoid these non-convergence issues?

Using the example file 5ZoneCAV_MaxTemp and running an annual simulation with no other changes to the file also causes max iteration warnings, although these were from SolveAirLoopControllers. We are beginning to look into these issues and I will add this file to the list of problem files. I suggest you add your file as well so we correct as many of these issues as possible.
