Are there Workflows or In-Depth Whitepapers on Modeling Air-to-Water Heat Pumps for Radiant Floor/ceiling/panel heating/cooling in EnergyPlus 25.1?

I am researching how to retrofit an existing building with an Air-to-Water Heat Pump (ATWHP). Its in a prime location for heating and cooling with a ATWHP and DewPoint sensing Control. The existing radiant floor circuits are suitable for low temperature heating and high temperature cooling. Additional ceiling or wall radiant panels are an option if needed. I have reviewed "Bad allocation" error in EnergyPlus 25.1 with hydronic radiant floor + air-to-water heat pump" and other posts herein.

The main goal is to size the ATWHP to replace the gas boiler. There is no cooling other manual ventilation at this point in the building so the loading should not be excessive for this relatively high-mass earth-coupled/covered walk-out basement style building that performs adequately but needs a little mechanical cooling too.

There is a new air-to-water heat pump model that is planned to be included in EnergyPlus 25.2, to be released at the end of September. In particular, you can read its design document to understand existing capabilities/gaps and how the new model will work. This may help you decide if it's worth waiting for the new model or if the existing capabilities are sufficient.

Thank you for the timely reply. This is what I was looking for. Do you think this is a fairly "hard" scheduled release? I would not want to put this job off two months and then have the release be pushed.

I can't remember the last time an EnergyPlus release was delayed, so it's pretty firm. And the new model seems to be on track; it was completed four days ago and is being reviewed by other developers.

Well, looks like I am wrong. I believe the EnergyPlus release is going to be delayed by a couple months. Sorry.
