PV generation plus battery storage simulation in EnergyPlus ?

Are there any EnergyPlus example IDF files which allow one to simulate a small-medium size building retrofitted with PV panels and on-site battery storage ? If not, then what might be the easiest way to implement this functionality ?

Update: The example file ShopWithPVandBAttery.idf does PV + electrical storage simulation for a 1 story building divided into 4 exterior and one interior conditioned zones with a return plenum. It is a low energy building with photovoltaic roof and electrical storage.

Energyplus example file will give you two or three file with ICE thermal energy storage to get some idea. Also look for MLE+ and similar apps so that you can co-simulate Matlab and EP so get more options. This might also give you some help https://github.com/NREL/CampusEnergyM.... I haven't tried PV myself in EP with any of these tools though.

Thanks for the reply. I am one of the developers of MLE+ and am familiar with NREL's setup. I was just hoping if there was a more direct approach and if EnergyPlus already has some IDF example with battery storage and PV included. Though, as you correctly pointed out, it seems like co-simulation is the route to take.
