Yes, this has been done before, the results will be slightly different because of the hysteresis not captured in the independent simulation runs. The building state at the start of the second 1-month period won't be exactly the same as the ending state of the first 1-month period, etc. But the difference is perhaps an acceptable sacrifice for the speed gain. Suggests you do some tests to evaluate whether the difference is acceptable for your use case.
