This refers to an "IECC adjustment factor" that represents an additional miscellaneous load component. The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) provides limited guidance on internal gains requirements. The equipment loads and corresponding schedules of the PNNL residential prototype building model were considered to closely match the Building America (BA) Research Benchmark. This Adjustment factor component (IECC_Adj) is added to account for the difference found between the internal gains specified by the IECCC and the internal gains (sum of equipment and lighting) from the BA benchmark.
