Revision history [back]

This resource is not a document, but the template HVAC systems in OpenStudio line up pretty closely with the 90.1 Appendix G system types and the GUI makes diagrams that are pretty simple. To view them:

  1. Download OpenStudio
  2. Open the OpenStudio application
  3. Click on the HVAC tab in the left column (looks like a loop with 2 arrows)
  4. Click the green "+" button in the upper left
  5. Pick the system you want to see (list starts with system 3 and goes through 10)
  6. You can navigate between the air and water loops by using the drop down in the top right or by clicking the little black circles that stick perpendicularly off of the coils, chillers, and cooling towers.

System types 1 and 2 are pieces of zone-equipment that can be seen by clicking on the thermal zones tab in the left column and dragging a PTAC or PTHP from the library on the right into the zone equipment drop zone.

If you are presenting these often, you could take screenshots of these, make a PowerPoint, and post the slides so that in the future this question has a better answer.
