To optimize you change the Analysis drop-down from Design to Optimize to, and select more than one option (ctrl-click) for one or more measures on the Optimization tab e.g; R-38 and R-49 in Ceilings/Roofs. Then you run the model as usual. Note that optimization results are highly sensitive to the inputs i.e; utility rates and escalators, inflation rate, discount rate, interest rate, and measure material/labor costs. The default labor/material costs are national averages and a few years old, but you can make broad adjustments to those with the efficiency cost multipliers on the Site Screen.
