2015-09-01 02:15:12 -0500 commented answer How to control the Outdoor Air flow rate in EnergyPlus?

I test my model again. I find the maximum supply flow rate can reach 5.1 only, so no matter how I set the OA controller the outdoor air flow rate reach 5.1 only. If the CAV system can realize my purpose?

@Annie Marston Thank you! I have try my best to find the solver through your answer, but I don`t reach my purpose.

2015-08-28 09:02:54 -0500 asked a question How to control the Outdoor Air flow rate in EnergyPlus?

I built a model with the CAV system. The outdoor air flow rate is 20m3/h-person on the cooling and heating season. The transition season is set to the full outdoor air(about 5.1m3/s), the minmum outdoor air fraction is 1, but the indoor temperature is too high yet. So I want to know how can I make the outdoor air folw rate improve to the AHU Fan maxmum flow rate(9.685m3/s).image description image description

My chilled water system contains a headeredpump:constantpump and the number of pumps in Bank is 2.But when the system work at a low load rate the pump mass flow rate is too big and the count of pump still 1. When the system work at a high load rate the count of pump is still 1.

The following is the idf and eso @MJWitte

I will try the EMS.I hope the outdoor air flow fraction can stay 1 at night.

Thanks your answer! Your answer can solve my question perfectly. But another way can solve the question I think. If we can use the "ZoneVentilation:DesignFolwRate" object replace the "AvailabilityManager:NightVentilation" object. So your suggestion?

Ok! Thank you very much.

@Kyle Benne Thank you!I think you are right but my model is right. The both fans use the same availability and the night ventilation manager reference that schedule.Does your model has two fans in OpenStudio? if they can work correctly?

2015-07-08 09:22:54 -0500 asked a question How to set nightventilation in EnergyPlus

The system is an constant volume model. Each system have a supply and a return fan. I want to use the AvailablityManager:NightVentilation but I don`t know why the fan not work at night. When I delete the return fan the supply can work correctly. So I want know which method can make the supply fan and return fan work at night. Thank you!

2015-07-08 02:47:04 -0500 commented answer How to control the temperature of hot water on the heating coil in EnergyPlus

Thank you very much! The system of my model use a ConstanPump and I find the water flow rate of the bypass is too big so must heat energy loss. The coil model is Coil:Heating:Water.I put a setpoint use the SetpointManager:Schedule but the temperature of outlet still 25℃.

2015-07-06 03:45:10 -0500 asked a question How to control the temperature of hot water on the heating coil in EnergyPlus

I want know if we can control the temperature about the heating coil outlet . I use the DistrictHeating as the heat source .The supply heat water temperature is 60 ℃,but the heating coil outlet temperature is only about 25 ℃. So I think the outlet temperature is too low.

I will. Thank you!

2015-06-03 20:45:17 -0500 edited question I find a severe error in energy plus and don't understand it!

I am getting the error from "Errors" button but don't know what they mean and how to solve them:

** Severe ** FindRootSimpleController: Controller error for controller = "Big Room COOLING COIL CONTROLLER"
   ** ~~~ ** Environment=RUN PERIOD, at Simulation time=03/06 14:30 - 14:40
** ~~~ ** Controller function is inconsistent with user specified controller action = Reverse action
** ~~~ ** Actuator will be set to maximum action
   ** ~~~ ** Controller control type=Temperature
   ** ~~~ ** Controller temperature setpoint = 13.74 [C]
   ** ~~~ ** Controller sensed temperature = 13.74 [C]
   ** ~~~ ** Controller actuator mass flow rate set to 17.02 [kg/s]
   ** ~~~ ** Controller actuator temperature = 7.00 [C]
** ~~~ ** Note: Chilled water coils should be reverse action and the entering chilled
** ~~~ ** water temperature (controller actuator temperature) should be below the setpoint temperature
** ~~~ ** Note: Hot water coils should be normal action and the entering hot
** ~~~ ** water temperature (controller actuator temperature) should be above the setpoint temperature

1.I have set the plantloop Availability Manager so the cooling coil don`t work On March 6.

2.The controller action=Reverse and I simulate the idf document when I change the controller action=Normal but the error did not change.

Thanks a lot!
