2015-03-19 04:48:37 -0500 | commented answer | Is it possible to export and import schedule sets ? Another thing, I wanted to re-use similar schedules as well, so I wanted them to pop-up in the library, so I saved the osm file with a different version name and loaded the library of the previous version, so I could use the re-use the just made schedules and use close to the same settings. Might be a tip for others that read this ;) |

2015-03-18 10:09:25 -0500 | asked a question | Is it possible to export and import schedule sets ? I have different schedule sets that I can use in different buildings. Is it possible to re-use those schedule sets in different buildings. I know now how to load libraries, so I can re-use schedules, thanks to David Goldwasser, but it would help if I can re-use full schedule sets too. |
2015-03-13 10:18:59 -0500 | commented answer | Assigning different temperature schedules to different zones I think I found it, I have setup a Parent's thermostat in Sketchup openstudio plugin. Then I couldn't find that back when I started working in OpenStudio directly and didn't understand why all thermostats were setback all the time. When implementing a HW baseboard convective water unit with as HW boiler I started to rethink this and got it to work now, results start to make sense again, thank you for the response Julien. |
2015-03-13 10:15:28 -0500 | commented answer | how can I setup a CV based heating system running with water, heating wall radiators in different thermal zones ? I didn't add the SHW loop, but just the baseboard HW coils with the HW boiler loop. That works well for me, thanks for the support. |
2015-03-13 02:26:53 -0500 | commented answer | Assigning different temperature schedules to different zones @Julien, setting those schedules works and assigning those schedules works as well, but as soon as you run the simulation the schedules are set back to one schedule. Is there another way to make it work ? |

I've found 2 helpful things on top of your 1. A presentation, see attached link with all presentations and there is one is about Radiant Systems. http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/building... 2. 2015-03-09 08:00:19 -0500 | commented answer | who has an example osm file consisting a low temperature radiant heating system in openstudio? Thank you for your answer. Can you help me with specifying this a bit further? The Layering of the Internal Source. Which layer would represent the heating layer, is that the most internal layer or the most external ? As in principal I would like it to radiate into the appropriate zone and not in the other adjacent zone. |
2015-03-08 07:32:21 -0500 | asked a question | who has an example osm file consisting a low temperature radiant heating system in openstudio? I have setup different thermal zones in a residential building, now in order to be able to see what different temperature schedules in different zones have as an effect on the heating demand, I think I have to set up a heating system. The closest system to European based systems is a low temperature radiant system with a hotwater boiler, at least as far as I know. Does anyone have a working osm file that he/she is willing to share, so I can work and learn from that, because the system I'm trying is full of errors. The model of the building is fine, all zones and spaces are setup well and surfaces are matched. |
2015-03-06 14:08:15 -0500 | marked best answer | European components on the BCL Are there any European construction materials in the BCL? European materials often vary from US materials in the size of the construction products. It's not too hard to change the sizes, but how can I save/export the created materials in my OpenStudio Model, so I can also use them in other models/projects ? |

2015-03-04 13:59:01 -0500 | commented answer | European components on the BCL Thanks David, that will help me. I will create some standard components for dutch buildings, but I don't think I can add all parameters in there, as I don't know thermal, solar nor absorptance for most of those materials, so I'm not sure if it's worth sharing with others. I have tried it and it works well for me now. |
2015-03-04 08:56:06 -0500 | edited question | how can I setup a CV based heating system running with water, heating wall radiators in different thermal zones ? I have a residential building that I would like to heat with a gas burned CV system, heating up the different spaces and thermal zones with hot water running through wall mounted radiators, typical construction in the Netherlands. This same gas burned CV is used for heating up the domestic hot water supply. How can I model that in OpenStudio ? |

2015-03-04 08:49:52 -0500 | marked best answer | Assigning different temperature schedules to different zones How can I simulate and setup different temperature schedules for different thermal zones or spaces? I have a small residential building setup with 4 stories and I would like to check what difference in gas usage it makes if you keep some parts of the building semi-conditioned (15°C / 59°F) instead of letting it run with the default building thermostat. |
