2017-02-08 10:26:33 -0500 | asked a question | LEED Commercial Interior CI v2009 EAc1.3 Hello everyone, I have some questions about LEED CI v2009 energy model with eQuest. Hope someone could give me some advises or comments. Thanks! 1. To conform, the baseline building should be modeled based on Ashrae 90.1 -2007 Chapter 11 ECB for LEED 2009 CI EAc1.3 Option 2, path 1 or 2 (It seems LEED v4 version needs to base on Appendix G.) 2. The existing building is core and shell with 13 levels, and the CI portion is only 1 level of them (The 8th floor). For CI energy model, do I only need to set up the CI portion (only 1 level)? The proposed system is DOAS fan powered terminal, how to distribute the AHU’s energy to only one floor and setup the system correctly? How to setup chillers, cooling towers and boilers? 3. For CI energy model EAc1.3, does the credit only care about heating, cooling and fans/pumps energy? Does heat rejection energy need to include? How to distribute pumps energy to only 1 floor since the chilled water pumps and hot water pumps serve the whole building. |

2015-01-20 16:37:43 -0500 | commented answer | Heating and cooling sizing factor in energyplus Hey Jamie, According to Ashrae, I understand that heating size 125% and cooling size 115% But for Proposed building, need we oversize the cooling/heating too? Thanks! |

2015-01-16 17:54:04 -0500 | commented answer | unmet hour - heating too high in eQuest Problem solved! You know what? Some of the zones' Heating source did not assign to HW loop, kept none. That's the reason lol. I Learn a lot from your commends!!! Really appreciate man! Add your LinkedIn BTW |
2015-01-16 13:56:49 -0500 | commented answer | unmet hour - heating too high in eQuest Hey Ben, Thank you very much for your answer, it helps. I tried increase the Throttling Range, but not too many change, unmet hour just decrease like 10hr. I leave the cooling/heating capacity (At zone level) all blank - which I think means auto sizing, the result shows same unmet hour from BEPS report. Are you mean look at the capacity from other places? could you tell me which report? I leave outdoor air rate blank too..... |
2015-01-16 09:16:48 -0500 | asked a question | unmet hour - heating too high in eQuest Hey everyone, I am doing a high raise office building (14 levels, about 800,000 sf) energy model use eQuest, VAV system, chillers and boilers, core and shell, Ashrae system 7. When I run the result, unmet hour is high, 36 for cooling (Thats OK), 414 for heating. I tried to increase air flow - Minimum flow ratio from 0.3 to 0.5 or higher, no working. Tried increase air-flow - design flow from 0.5 cfm/sf to 0.6 or higher, no working. Tried turn on night fan (cycle on any) - no working Increased heating capacity, no working. all the zones assignment seems right. Could any masters here help me troubleshooting with this? Really really appreciate!!!! Please let me know if you need any other information~~~ |
