Dear All,

I am in trouble in the modelling process . For my research project , I used Revit Architecture and exported both gbXML and .dwg format. Firstly, I am not able to import gbXML into sketch up to Openstudio.Secondly, after importing .dwg format as 3d model solid I can not create no wall thickness as faces in Sketch up .Please let me know if I have to model no wall thickness to simulate in Energy Plus or not. Would you please guide me by offering any information. Yours sincerely,

In first step of analysis, each zone’s temperature can be either constant or scheduled but for improvement scenario thermal zones will be scheduled according to user behavior. For example , in new usage schedule will be indicated outside break times and etc.

Dear Cory, I am so thankful for you.I am studying in two existing office buildings based on user behavior without comparing envelope.Firstly, I linked only model to Suncast to understand solar shading and energy consumption.Secondly, I am going to link model to Macroflo without Suncast to understand effect of natural ventilation on energy consumption. Please let me know after integrating my scenarios into project, I have to link model to both Suncast and Macroflo. Thanks in advance for any help and consideration. Yours sincerely,

I am trying to calculate energy consumption in an office which has a fan coil system (image1). I am not sure and selected a simple fan coil template (image 2). Under what conditions model should be linked to Suncast, Macroflo and ApacheHAVC.

Dear Macumber, Hi, thank you so much for replying me . I wanted to ask you both how to import materials/constructions from a gbXML file into OpenStudio and specify new materials/constructions in OpenStudio. I exported one project without applying material . I wonder if it is possible to apply material in another program such as Ecotect and export in .rad or another format and import into OS to run E+.Yours sincerely

2014-11-20 10:05:13 -0500 asked a question gbXML element types

Dear All, According to written in one link the following gbXML element types are imported from gbXML to the OpenStudio Model: -Construction - Material -ScheduleDay -ScheduleWeek -Schedule -Campus - Building -Space -Surface -SubSurface. In my project, I modeled one project and exported in gbXML format without materials and other factors. Since, I thought it is better to assign material in OS .Now after importing gbXML into OS I do not know how I can assign the above elements types such as materiel. Because , my project is huge I wonder how can do them. Yours sincerely,

2014-11-20 09:26:15 -0500 commented answer Export from Revit to Sketchup

Dear David, I always really appreciate your help and consideration . Thank you so much again.I used import section in Sketch up options . Now , I have to import it as if it is an OSM. That is why I insist that gbXML is better than DWG/DXF , there is less problem with error in importing model.Yours sincerely

Dear Matthew and Kent, I am so thankful for you. Thank you so much. Dear Kent , You are right . I am modeling wall thicknesses and exporting as rooms in gbXML format.I have to model with zero wall thickness but before exporting gbXML in Revit, It needs to be modeled with wall thicknesses. In modeling Revit, it also is impossible to model zero thickness of building elements .Yours sincerely
