2019-10-13 14:13:46 -0500 | marked best answer | Optimal operation of plant chillers (EnergyPlus) Hi! Now i am running a simulation of central plant system equipped with absorption chillers. The supply side has 3 chillers with headerd pump and common pipe. the following is the input parameter of the plant side system. i want each chiller to operate optimally with optimal part load ratio depending on the load(of course when multiple chillers operate, part load ratio could be below optimal PLR). so i expect that 'Pump Operating Pumps Count' should increase from 1 to 2, and from 2 to 3 depending on the load. but Pump Operating Pumps Count increases from 1 to 3 without being counted as 2. how can i control optimally these chillers? |

2018-07-04 05:32:51 -0500 | marked best answer | How can i fix supply air temperature for VRF in EnergyPlus? Hi! Now I am modelling a building equipped with VRF system. Even though generally supply air temperature of Japanese VRF is higher by 10 degrees Celcius than zone setpoint temperature, the model now i am modelling supplies in approximately 41 degrees Celcius. so i want to fix the VRF supply air temperature as 32 degrees celcius. how can i do this? i've already tried SetpointManager:FollowSystemNodeTemperature. but it didn't work. additionally, SetpointManager:Warmest and SetpointManager:WarmestTemperatureFlow don't work for VRF systems |

2017-10-19 05:01:38 -0500 | marked best answer | why negative internal convective heat gain during night?(EnergyPlus) Hello now i am checking the zone air heat balance for each zone. but i just found that the internal convective heat gain from perimeter zones have negative results during night in winter. actually, input/output reference describes internal convective heat gain rate as "The Zone Air Heat Balance Internal Convective Heat Gain Rate is the sum, in watts, of heat transferred to the zone air from all types of internal gains, including people, lights, equipment etc. This and the following provide results on the load components of the zone air heat balance. This field is not multiplied by zone or group multipliers." and i don't get how internal convective heat gain can have negative results. please teach me why this can be happened or what kinds of aspects are included in internal gains except people, lights, equipment. |
