2018-01-08 19:56:53 -0500 | marked best answer | Solar Gain in EnergyPlus Hello, I am working on a model in E+ and I would like to compare it to a model created on IESVE. In IESVE there is an output called Solar Gain. It is defined by IESVE as "Solar gain: Solar radiation absorbed on the internal surfaces of the room, plus solar radiation absorbed in glazing and transferred to the room by conduction." I have checked the output:variable in E+ and I have not found any output to match that. Could anybody help me with that? I would like to know what is the output:variable should I request for Solar Gain in a zone. Or if you have any other suggestion how can I compare the solar gain of the models please let me know. Thank you very much, your help is highly appreciated. |

2017-05-22 09:52:39 -0500 | marked best answer | Foundation boundary condition (Foundation:Kiva) When I use Foundation boundary condition for the slab I can't get Surface Outside Face variables which is very understandable. However, is there anyway to be able to measure the temperature within the slab. Although I am using the CFD algorithm the nodes that is created inside the floor surface will not have any result I assume that is related to the fact that Foundation:Kiva does not use the same algorithm as the rest of the model. |
