2017-06-01 09:46:27 -0500 | marked best answer | VAV system but costant air flow rate Hi, i can't understand why the rooftop with variable volume fans is always constat with the outdoor air and the design airflow rate i defined in E+. I suppose the first one should be remain constant, while the second should change depending on the cooling/heating load. Where am i getting wrong with the model?Thank you. |

2017-05-12 05:25:26 -0500 | marked best answer | From space to thermal zone I'm asking if there is a function to automatically generate a thermal zone associated to each space, using the same name of the space for example. This would easily shorten the work time. Thank you. |

2017-05-08 10:28:53 -0500 | commented answer | Openstudio crashes when running simulation and when going on measure tab Thank you, now the simulation finally started. How does it happen these kind of problems? There is a way to avoid them? |
2017-05-06 11:24:41 -0500 | marked best answer | Openstudio crashes when running simulation and when going on measure tab I use openstudio 2.1, but i tried also with v1.11. When i start the simulation it gives me this messages: -Initializing workflow. -Processing OpenStudio Measures. -Translating the OpenStudio Model to EnergyPlus. Then it crashes: with 2.1 stopping at 100% without creating an idf; in 1.11 closing automatically the software. Anyone wo can help me?i already removed every geometry error, verified construction sets. Is it a software, compatatibility error?i use Sketchup2016Pro. OS crashes also if i click on measure tab. |

2017-04-18 12:11:45 -0500 | commented question | Energy consumption for heating too low Total building area is 810 m2 (8700 ft2); winter thermostat settings are 20°C (68°F), summer is 26°C (78.8°C), both considering 8 hour/day schedule. Heating system is composed by: waterheater:heatpump:pumpedcondenser with Coil:WaterHeating:AirToWaterHeatPump:Pumped which is 55,7kW-COP 3.3; i don't have any heat recovery. |

2017-04-18 10:11:49 -0500 | asked a question | Energy consumption for heating too low I modeled a office building in Rome-Italy, ashrae climate zone 4A. Window-wall ratio is 22% with a good performance envelope in terms of tramittance. HVAC is composed of a reversible Heatpump/chiller air-to-water (COP and EER around 3.0) and fancoils, with natural ventilation, which i assumed about 0.3 airchanges/hour. Annual consumption for cooling is 28000 kWH, while heating, accounted in water system - other (i used waterheater:mixed+waterheater:heatpump) is 1500 kWh. UnmetSetpoint hours are below 50 hours. Moreover in the PEAK ENERGY END-USE - ELECTRICITY table, values for heating and cooling are similar: with maximum respectively of 25.3 kW (which and 22.2 kW C:\fakepath\Cattura.JPG C:\fakepath\Cattura2.JPG The second screenshot is from resultviewer and shows how the heatpump coil and the chiller power are not so different. |

2017-04-05 10:22:03 -0500 | commented answer | Construction Name is required but was blank OK, now seems it works!Really thank you!Just one thing, even if the simulation doesn't show problems, in the sketchup plug-in surfaces still doesn't have a connection with the construction name. Anyway it's ok |
2017-04-04 08:44:39 -0500 | commented question | Construction Name is required but was blank It's for all the surfaces. I used adiabatic boundary just for a few surfaces which have same problem. |

2017-04-04 08:17:46 -0500 | asked a question | Construction Name is required but was blank The problem it's that even following other people's advice i still have all my building surfaces without a construction name. I had created a construction set with all the types of constructions in Open Studio. Then i selected the whole model also in SketchUp Plug-in to set my "construction set" using the "Set Attributes Tool". I tried also to use the measure "Remove Orphan Subsurfaces plugin" , but nothing. I cheked also if the model has glass doors, but it's not that problem. So the funny thing it's that only fixed windows has the correct construction name. Other surfaces have everything in theyr places (name, surface type, outside boundary condition) except construction name. How can I fix this problem? |
