Anyone knows how to link the heating and cooling schedule to the occupancy hours?

What I want is to turn the heating and cooling on when people are in the place at certain temperature.

Change IDD. This needs an IDD change.

From A3 ; \field Output:Variable or Output:Meter Name \required-field \type external-list \external-list autoRDDvariable \external-list autoRDDmeter

to A3 ; \field Output:Variable or Output:Meter Name \required-field \type external-list \external-list autoRDDvariableMeter

What I want is to add something to EMS sensor, cause under the EMS sensor the output variables are not there, I only see output meter. I saw on this link https://github.com/NREL/EnergyPlus/is... that the .idd need to be changed to fix it and I am trying to do it :)

Does anyone know how to open and edit the .idd file?

I think the options under EMS sensor are from MDD. Do you know how to change that? :)

Thanks for the answer. But why in the RDD file there are lots of Output:Variable Objects that are not avaible for EMS sensors?

My question would be why there is no Zone Mean Air Temperature, Zone Thermostat Heating Setpoint Temperature and Zone Thermostat Cooling Setpoint Temperature options under EMS:Sensor ?

I have a VAV system with reheat and I want to turn the cooling & heating on and off according to the temperature.

Got it. System sizing is for central HVAC sizing. Zone sizing is only for a zone.

Sorry for the primitive question. What is the difference between 'zone sizing' and 'system sizing' in EnergyPlus?

I want to compare the required flow rate and the requierd cooling/heating load for different HVAC system. Do I take the them from .Zsz or .Ssz?

I have sorted the running period problem :)

About the .csv. Maybe I am entirely blind but I don't see any .csv file.. Is it a seperate file that is generated after the simulation? And in the .csv file I can select the output results I want?

The model running period is set to start from Jan 1 till Dec 31, but the generated spreadsheet only gives this: simdays=1 simdays=1 simdays=1 simdays=1 simdays=1 simdays=1 simdays=1 simdays=365 as the results when the 'running period' is selected under reporting frequency under output:variable.

When the 'montly' is selected it starts with July 21 and Jan 21 before getting to normal. Also The Energy+ is generating other outputs that I am not selected.

I have checked everything, but can't find any problem.

As I can't upload the file... Any suggestion would be appreciated. such as what should I check.

How to get the points to upload the idf.file?
