2018-03-12 09:18:31 -0500 marked best answer The problem about the setting of ground surface temperature

When I define the ground surface temperature based on the handbook that 2C less than the indoor temperature, the thickness showed a positive correlation with Heating energy comsumption, and heat conductivity coefficient showed a negative correlation with heating energy in a severe cold region. It seems that the ground has a heating effect. That is abnormal, so dose anyone has encontered the some problem or how to change it.

2017-06-07 04:18:55 -0500 marked best answer How to define the infiltration rate in a central zone which is composed by internal walls?

The defination of infiltration is the outside air from the crack of building. So, how to set the infiltration rate in a central zone which is composed by internal walls. Theoretically, there is no direct outdoor air to go into this area, but the mixture of indoor and outdoor air. How about setting a smaller value than common situation? or set zero in this situation?

2017-01-12 08:17:30 -0500 commented answer what is the relationship between zoneinfiltration design flow rate and designspecification:outdoor air?

Thank you for the reply, but forgive that I'm not the HVAC major. I used ideal loads air system in my project, and I have to set the design specification : outdoor air. whether you mean that this OA is arise the mechanical ventilation and will result in the change of space cooling and heating.

For infiltration, it is the outdoor air from the crack of building envelop. But the define of design specification outdoor air is confused? Do they have any relationship? Many thanks

2017-01-04 17:02:21 -0500 asked a question How to understand district cooling and heating and Zone Total cooling and Heating Energy

Sorry to ask a primary question. I simulate the building model using Ideal loads air system with outdoor air. In the beginning, I considered the districting cooling and heating energy as the cooling and heating energy requirements. However, when I sum all zones cooling and heating energy (Output:Variable:Zone Ideal Loads Zone Total Cooling Energy),the result has a big difference from district cooling and heating as follow.image description

I can understand the zone total cooling energy is bigger than district cooling because the outdoot air.But in the winter, the outdoor air should also enlarges the zone total heating energy which ought to bigger than district heating. However the result is opposite. In additional, If the district cooling and heating is the heating and cooling energy requirements, then how to statistics each zone' s heating and cooling energy requirements.

2016-12-22 06:16:43 -0500 asked a question How to solve the big difference bwtween district cooling and heating?

I use the ideal air loads system to siumlate the building load, the result shows a big difference between district cooling and heating as follow: image description

There no big apparent unreasonable sets in the model, So whether this difference arises from the ideal air loads system?

2016-12-19 08:26:10 -0500 asked a question A fatal error in energyplus

I used openstudio to build the building model and simulate in energyplus, but this project has some errors as follow: * Severe * IP: IDF line~13 Multiple occurrences of Unique Object=Version * Severe * IP: Other miscellaneous errors found in input * Severe * IP: Out of "range" values and/or blank required fields found in input * Fatal * IP: Errors occurred on processing IDF file. Preceding condition(s) cause termination. I'm a new user, so if anyone could give me some advices, many thanks.

Thank you for your help, I will change it and check the result. But I always have another question for thermal zone. That is whether I can set two zones which locate in different storeys into a same thermal, or I can just set the zone in same storey to the same thermal zones.

When I run the simulation in E+, there is always a warning as follows:

Warning ** GetSurfaceData: InterZone Surface Areas do not match as expected and might not satisfy conservation of energy:

   ** ~~~ ** Area=306.2, Multipliers=3, Total Area=918.7 in Surface=SURFACE 53 Zone=THERMAL ZONE 2

I want to know how I can fix this problem?

2016-05-09 08:17:01 -0500 asked a question How to define a virtual interface which has the funcation of air exchange and transparency between two zone in E+?

In fact ,there is a opening between two zones in my model, and I hope this opening has the funcation of air exchange and transparency. So, I draw a open area in SU between two zones, but the result is unsatisfactory. So I want to know how to modify this model to make the result more reasonable.

I had met this situation before, you need redraw the you model, maybe there are some problems from your drawing method which conflicts with OS' s drawing language.
