2022-02-08 16:08:02 -0500 marked best answer heat recovery chiller in CBECC-COM 2019

Hello,

Can heat recovery chiller be modeled in cbecc-com 2019 or energy pro? this chiller doesn't have a typical heat rejection system or connected to a cooling tower. The HRC uses coils (heating coils and cooling coils) in the exhaust air of each air handler to either generate cold water or hot water by either heating or cooling the air to certain temperate. we are looking to document the TDV saving compared to T-24-2019 in a reasonable manner. Looking at energy pro v8 it looks like there is no way to represent this system. Any suggestions or pointers would greatly help.

Thanks, Aditya

Hello,

I am getting an error "Too many fields for object:Schedule Compact" when trying to open a idf file that was exported using OS v2.5.0 . I used a measure (courtesy of @Lyle K , for sharing the measure) to bring in 8760 hourly data and assigned it to load profile plant object.

One of the discussion threads suggested that adding more lines to "Energy+idd file" would help resolve the issue. However, I didn't quite understand what piece of text to add to the idd file. Any input on this would be helpful.

My goal is to ultimately open the file using IDF editor and attempt to add more customization on the plant loop.

Attached is the idf file.

Thank you, -Aditya

2018-04-30 17:45:35 -0500 marked best answer Run away plant temps -far too hot

Hello,

I am trying to model CHW and HW load profiles on central plant. I am getting the following server error and simulation is terminating. I am looking for Suggestions/direction on how to address the issue of Run away plant temperatures.

image description

Description of the Central Plant: CHW- generated by two water cooled chillers with a heat recovery chiller ( currently not modeled ), connected to two cooling towers. HW- Generated by two condensing boilers. The demand side of each loop has load profile object, where I referenced 8760 hourly load data and flow fraction for various building on campus. The load profiles are generated using individual OSM files.

The following is the CHW plant configuration screen shot: image description

Thank you! for your time and input.
