2017-05-26 11:24:17 -0500 marked best answer Details on OpenStudio AEDG K12 GSHP DOAS measure

Please provide further details regarding this measure. What are its limitations? Its main assumptions? This measure nicely strips existing HVAC equipment from a model and runs an "optimally-sized" ground loop and that it "reflects the HVACE recommendations of the 50% K-12 AEDG" guide. How is this ground loop size calculated to float between 5C and 21C as the measures specifies, and what/where are the soil properties and borefield configuration details that influence the performance of the ground exchanger?

2016-04-12 18:12:45 -0500 marked best answer OS distributed analysis Window to Wall Ratio

In a Distributed Analysis (when I have plenums), is it possible to have the existing "set-window-to-wall-ratio" measure disregard the exterior surfaces of the plenums if included in the Analysis Spreadsheet?

The building won't use plenums for return air actually, they are just there currently in the Revit model and will likely remain. Just curious if the measure as it stands can or can't be pinpoint-directed to surfaces (or, groups of surfaces with a common name tag for instance) in a Distributed Analysis, or if cardinal direction is the only distinguishing characteristic to apply.

2016-04-12 18:10:33 -0500 marked best answer Openstudio daylighting measure

I am using PAT with a base model that has no windows. I'm running a WWR measure for each cardinal direction and then three Add Daylight Sensor measures for specific space types. I run the baseline, baseline w/o sensors, baseline w/sensors as my three design alternatives primarily to see how much savings there are with adding the daylight sensors versus no sensors. Results are the same though. I've looked at the generated osm files in these two design alternatives and the windows are generated as expected in both, as are the sensors placed in the last design alternative. I review the PAT outputs on the Run tab for each of these alternatives as well: while the space types for the daylight sensors are shown as being recognized, there is an NA or Not Applied reported for each daylight sensor measure. I'm confused why on the one hand all space types are recognized for sensor placement, but they are Not Applied. At the same time, sensors are actually placed in the model as reflected in the osm file for the alternative that has the place sensor measures.
