Writting an OpenStudio Measure for Multifamily Building Geometry Creation

I want to create a measure that allows for the following inputs, and creates the appropriately shaped geometry in OpenStudio: Number of Floors, Units per Floor, Floor Area per Unit, and Building Shape (such as rectangle, square, C and H-shapes). I am wondering what the easiest way to alter the number of units for a given template shape would be. For instance, if I create a C-shape OS geometry template in Sketchup with 20 units, is there an easy way to make a C-shape multifamily apartment OS model with 40 units?
