Hi,
I'm trying to model a simple Greenhouse in OpenStudio and I need a construction to represent the Ground Contact Surface, which in the real world would be the soil and the plants. Is the Roof Vegetation type of material the right material to represent this?
In reality, I would like my model to represent the evapotranspiration of the plants and soil heat exchanges in the heat balance of the model so I can get more realistic temperatures and humidity inside the greenhouse.
Looking at the Input Output Reference, the only warning to not use this type of material is for high-sloped exterior surfaces. My concern is that in the calculations for the heat balance, the radiation emitted to the green roof is exclusively the outside radiation, taken directly from the weather data, disregarding the optical properties of the glazing material for the Subsurfaces.
Note: I'm an electrical engineering student so I have zero background in agriculture theory and it's my first time using OpenStudio.
