I would like to model a ductless ventilation device for the purpose of ventilating and heating a single zone and if possible, I want to do this with a HVACTemplate. The main heating from this device is done with a heat pump but it should possible to model an auxiliary heating system with either heat strip directly in the device, or using some baseboard radiators that connected to the district heating.
HVACTemplate:Zone:PTHP fits but what if my device offers heat recovery, air economizer and night ventilation features? PTHP does not have attributes for that.
I think that I need to use a HVACTemplate:Zone:Unitary coupled with either a HVACTemplate:System:Unitary, HVACTemplate:System:UnitarySystem or HVACTemplate:System:UnitaryHeatPump:AirToAir (so actually similar to https://unmethours.com/question/43202/how-to-implement-centralized-ventilation-system-without-heating-or-cooling-in-energyplus-idf-editor/ but not centralized).
Is it OK to model my single not so expensive device with one HVACTemplate:Zone:Unitary* ? Can I keep the default values without ending with unrealistic results (maybe the default values are meant to model big packages that can serve multiple zone and are very expensive?)?
- Can I model a heat pump via HVACTemplate:Zone:Unitary via selecting Heating Coil Type = Electric or would it be for heat strips only?
- With HVACTemplate:Zone:UnitaryHeatPump:AirToAir I can explicitely model a heat pump and I think that I can model the heat strip with "Supplemental Heating Coil Type" = "Electric"... is that correct?
- HVACTemplate:Zone:UnitarySystem looks like the most generic of the 3 templates as I can set the primary heating coil to anything and it also has "Supplemental Heating Coil..." attributes, but it has no "Night Cycle..." attributes so no night ventilation - is there a reason for that or has it been "forgotten" ?
